Using Freeway

So simple to use, a roadrunner could use it!
Welcome to Freeway, the best and only free driving directions service that seamlessly integrates into your Internet browser to provide driving directions as fast as possible.

The instructions and demonstrations on this page require that you have already configured and downloaded Freeway, and have also closed and reopened your Internet browser after the installation.

If you have followed all of the instructions correctly so far, then Freeway is installed in your browser. The Freeway options on your web browser's context-menu appear when you right-click a text selection.

On this page is a sample address similar to those you may find on web pages throughout the Internet. While this address is in standard format like most addresses you will find, Freeway is very flexible and can recognize addresses in a variety of formats.

Now to use Freeway with the address on this page, first highlight the address using the mouse by pressing and holding the left mouse button at the beginning of the address, just before the "351" and, while still holding down the left mouse button, dragging the mouse to the end of the address, just after the "06105." Release the left mouse button.

Now that the address is selected, position the mouse pointer over the highlighted address and press the right mouse button. A context-menu will pop up similar to the one shown here. Select "Driving Directions from Home" to get driving directions to this address from your house. You can also try "Driving Directions..." to get directions from somwhere else.

These features are great if the destination address is on a web page you are at, but if you have the address written down or memorized, Freeway can still help. Simply right-click the empty background space on any web page or your home page and select "Driving Directions..." from the context-menu that pops up. Do not select any text before right-clicking. You will be presented with the opportunity to enter a destination address to get driving directions to (as well as a chance to modify the starting address or generator).
